Why Startup Cincy Week Is More Than Just a Conference
Cincinnati has emerged as one of the most vibrant startup communities between the coasts. With Fortune 500 anchors like P&G, Kroger, and Fifth Third Bank, paired with a growing network of startups, venture capital, creative agencies, and innovation hubs, the city offers a real alternative to Silicon Valley burnout.
And unlike other ecosystems that feel closed off or elitist, Startup Cincy Week was built by and for the community. It’s open, inclusive, and celebratory—the kind of place where a college student with an idea can share a stage with a serial entrepreneur who just raised $30 million.
This is what makes Startup Cincy Week different: it reflects the DNA of the region—hard-working, innovative, and deeply connected to the people who call this place home.
The Origin of StartupCincy
Startup Cincy Week grew out of the broader StartupCincy movement, a community-powered initiative launched in the early 2010s to spotlight the growing entrepreneurial ecosystem in Greater Cincinnati.
From coworking spaces like Union Hall and CovWorx to startup accelerators like Hillman, Main Street Ventures, and Cintrifuse to massive exits from startups like dotloop, Everything But the House, and Astronomer, Cincinnati has shown that it can not only grow startups—it can scale them.
Startup Cincy Week is the flagship event that brings all of these threads together.
