Three University of Cincinnati students were attacked and robbed near campus last week, with four juveniles now facing aggravated robbery charges, Cincinnati police said.
This was one of several recent incidents of UC students attacked near campus.
The incident happened around 8 p.m. Sept. 30 near the Wingstop on Short Vine Street in Corryville, according to local reports.
The students said they were heading to the restaurant when a larger group confronted them. As a result, the event is now being discussed as part of growing concerns about UC students attacked in the area.
Four juveniles face aggravated robbery charges
Cincinnati police said four juveniles were arrested within minutes of receiving the call about the attack. All four face aggravated robbery charges, according to police.
The three students, who spoke with local news outlets anonymously, said they were riding electric scooters toward Wingstop when they encountered a group of about eight or nine people.
The students said the group blocked their path, grabbed their scooters and began yelling and threatening them. They said several males and females then attacked them before taking their scooters and other belongings.
Local 12 reported that one of the students recovered her scooter. Police are continuing to investigate and are seeking other people who may have been involved in these cases of UC students attacked near the university.

Yet CPD still refuses to admit we have a Gang problem…they alter the crime stats and scrub NIBRS reports—touting that the City is safe and violent crime is down. No tf it is not.
The video posted below is horrific. These three young women deserve every ounce of sympathy they are receiving—but so do all of the other victims…the victims we simply never hear about—because if many of them report the crimes against them, they’ll be targeted by Gangs.
Just because there is not usually video evidence in those crimes…do those victims not exist?

Students describe physical injuries
The three students said they were treated at UC Medical Center following the attack.
Two of the students told WCPO they were diagnosed with concussions. Another reported scratches and bruises.
One victim also told reporters that an attacker threatened to shoot her during the confrontation. That account is based on the student’s statement and has not been independently established as a separate criminal charge. In recent weeks, concerns have increased about the number of UC students attacked in the surrounding neighborhoods.
The students said they have continued to struggle emotionally after returning to campus and have concerns about their safety while walking around the area.
Victims say previous encounter may be connected
Two of the students previously worked at the nearby Wingstop, according to FOX19.
One victim said she believed the group may have targeted them because of a previous confrontation involving requests for water cups while she worked at the restaurant.
That possible connection remains an allegation from the victim. Police have not publicly established a motive for the attack.
Police increase presence around UC
The attack comes amid increased attention to public safety around the University of Cincinnati following several violent incidents near campus this semester.
Cincinnati police said the department and University of Cincinnati Police have increased patrols around the area, particularly during peak evening and weekend periods.
Officials also have deployed portable lighting towers and implemented other measures intended to improve visibility and safety around campus gathering areas. The city said its broader response includes increased police presence, community monitoring, targeted enforcement and violence-prevention efforts.
UC’s public-safety planning documents have previously identified Short Vine as an area where robberies and assaults have been concentrated. The university also reported an increase in juvenile offenders involved in criminal activity around campus, including thefts of electric scooters, fights and criminal trespassing. These issues appear to be part of the pattern of UC students attacked near the university in recent months.
The investigation into the Sept. 30 attack remains ongoing.
