StandardAero, a major engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) firm, is adding 300 full-time positions at its Sharonville facility — marking its third significant expansion in Greater Cincinnati.
The expansion adds 120,000 sq ft of leased space, bringing the total campus footprint to nearly 11 acres and swelling the local workforce to more than 1,000 employees — up from approximately 700.
This move comes with a boost in payroll: over $13.8 million annually for the new roles. StandardAero, with support from JobsOhio, REDI Cincinnati, and Sharonville City Council, is stepping into higher gear to address growing aerospace demand.
Aerospace-Driven Growth in Cincinnati
StandardAero’s Sharonville facility specializes in CFM International engine component repair and supports both commercial and military aviation. With the aerospace sector contributing almost $7.8 billion to the region’s economy, this expansion reinforces Cincinnati’s role as a national aerospace hub.
The new roles — machinists, parts inspectors, and bench operators — will tap a trained workforce pipeline. That’s possible thanks to local partnerships with vocational schools and talent initiatives from JobsOhio and REDI.
Why Sharonville Leads in Manufacturing
Sharonville actively pursued the expansion. Mayor Kevin Hardman emphasized the importance of job creation and supporting the supply chain. REDI’s CEO, Kimm Lauterbach, noted that this expansion strengthens “a regional network of innovation and manufacturing.”
Ohio-based incentives also played a role. The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved an eight-year, 1.433% Job Creation Tax Credit for StandardAero’s expansion — confirming the state’s confidence in the project.
