It’s finally here!
The wait is over for music fans worldwide as Spotify Wrapped 2025 officially launched this morning, transforming millions of listening histories into a retro-inspired “visual mixtape.”
After facing criticism for a minimalist design in 2024, the streaming giant has pivoted back to a vibrant, textured aesthetic that mimics the chaotic energy of hand-labeled cassettes and burned CDs.
Listening age
This year’s headline feature is “Listening Age,” a playful metric that assigns an age to your music taste rather than your biological years.
A 25-year-old streaming endless jazz standards might find themselves with a “Listening Age” of 76, while a Boomer on a hyperpop binge could clock in at 19.
It’s a cheeky addition that has already sparked viral comparisons across social media platforms.
Also new for 2025 is “Wrapped Clubs,” which sorts users into six distinct listening tribes such as “Cloud State Society,” “Grit Collective,” and “Soft Hearts Club.”
This replaces previous personality metrics with a more community-focused approach. For those looking to compete, the “Wrapped Party” feature now allows groups of friends to compare stats in real-time, gamifying the data with superlatives like “Rarest Listen.”
Top artists, songs
On the charts, a familiar king has reclaimed the throne. After being unseated by Taylor Swift in 2023, Bad Bunny has returned as the Global Top Artist for a fourth time, racking up over 19.8 billion streams.

Meanwhile, the Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars collaboration “Die With A Smile” took the crown for the most-streamed song globally, surpassing 1.7 billion plays.
By blending nostalgia with hyper-specific data, Spotify Wrapped 2025 has successfully re-engineered its annual viral moment, proving once again that our listening habits are more than just background noise; they are a shareable identity.
