What is a 4DX theater?
A 4DX theater goes beyond a traditional movie screen and sound system.
The technology synchronizes moving seats and environmental effects with scenes in a film.
Depending on the movie, audiences may feel their seats move or experience effects such as wind and water.
B&B Theatres lists Liberty Township as one of its locations offering the 4DX format.
The Liberty Township auditorium is the company’s second 4DX location developed with CJ 4DPLEX.

The 4DX opening is part of a broader expansion of premium movie experiences at the Liberty Township theater.
B&B Theatres and CJ 4DPLEX also opened a ScreenX auditorium at the location. ScreenX expands selected scenes across the main screen and side walls, creating a 270-degree panoramic viewing experience.
The Liberty Township ScreenX auditorium includes a 57-foot-wide screen and 198 recliner seats. Officials said it is the largest ScreenX auditorium in Ohio.
The location also offers B&B’s Grand Screen and screenPLAY!, a family-focused auditorium with an in-theater play area.
B&B Theatres describes the Liberty Township location as the region’s first 4DX experience and Cincinnati’s first ScreenX auditorium.
Theater upgrades began after B&B took over
B&B Theatres began operating the former theater at Liberty Center in January 2026.
Plans announced earlier this year included upgrades to seating and concessions, along with the addition of premium cinema formats. Renovations were expected to roll out in phases throughout 2026.
The theater is located at 7514 Bales St. in Liberty Township.
