Are you an animal lover? You may want to visit Cincinnati Animal CARE for their event this Black Friday.
The Cincinnati Animal CARE, Hamilton County’s only open, stray-intake animal shelter and sole provider of animal services, is having its “largest on-site adoption” this year. The event will take place on Black Friday, November 28.
The adoption event takes place starting 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at both Northside shelter locations, according to news release of Hamilton County.
A higher goal for this year’s Black Friday adoption
Last year’s Black Friday event shattered a shelter record. They registered 146 adoptions in a single day.
This year, Cincinnati Animal CARE has set an even higher goal, aiming to place 125 dogs and 65 cats, resulting in a total of 190 adoptions.
Adopters can bring home a dog or cat six months or older for just 99 cents. Puppies are priced at $200, while kittens are available for $60 each or BOGO. Every adoption includes spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, and a microchip.
Additionally, Hamilton County residents adopting dogs will be subject to the standard county licensing fee of $19.75.
“With hundreds of dogs and cats relying on us every single day, Black Friday is more than an event — it is one of the most powerful tools we have to save lives quickly,” said Meaghan Colville, Shelter Director at Cincinnati Animal CARE.
“Every adoption on Black Friday opens a kennel for another animal in need this holiday season. When people choose to adopt, they are directly changing the outcome for two animals at once— the pet they take home and the next one who needs that space.”
Other activities
In addition to extended adoption hours, the event will also feature community vendors and activities.
These include a volunteer-run bake sale, new Cincinnati Animal CARE merchandise, the Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee truck, Doggone Delectable Dog Treats, and live musical performances by Wild Tunes—a live-music enrichment program for shelter pets led by local musicians.
Adoptions will be available same-day, and staff and volunteers will be onsite to assist adopters in finding the perfect companion for their lifestyle.
